Hello! Here is my website and weblog. It's hard not to think of this as an OKCupid profile for my literary career — note the evocative and gently flattering photo; the curated list of accomplishments. Note the amount of time invested in staring at this screen thinking of the right thing to say next.
But here are the basics: I’m a novice-on-the-cusp-of-emerging playwright transitioning from grad school to professional wordsmithin’. There is much advice to young writers about marketing and self-promotion and personal branding. I’m trying to become more savvy with all that — the internet is a treasure and ranks high among reasons never to travel back in time* — while not losing sight of core values, such as the fact that people aren't brands.
So let’s talk. This is a blog on which to share thoughts and questions and contribute to a conversation about theater. Thanks for stopping by.
My next post will expand upon the intersections of theater with OKCupid.
